Media reported that Spears' poor performance on the 24th annual MTV Video Music Awards turned out to be the worst of her life. The VMA has given her an opportunity to show the 'new Britney', and had she nailed this performance for sure her album would go platinum. Unfortunately, her comical and confusing performance will get more hits on YouTube instead.
I watched Britney Spears' "comeback" performance during MTV - Video Music Awards on YouTube, oh man… so embarrassing, and not just the lousy lipsync. She wanders around in a fog of her own creation, seemingly unsure where she is supposed to be or what move she is supposed to be doing. No practice? Or is it something more? She moved like a drunk, slow, off balance, plodding around the stage always slightly behind the other performers.
Simon Cowell, one of the American Idol judges, declared Britney's career over the day after the VMA performance. Cowell told The Sun: "If I had been looking after Britney I'd have taken one look at her in rehearsals and I wouldn't have allowed her on stage. It would have been worth pulling her off the bill - no matter what the cost - to save any chance she had of resurrecting her career. She wasn't ready for that show in every possible way."
"The song wasn't right, the image wasn't right and she just wasn't rehearsed," he said.
But now Simon Cowell has had second thoughts, vowing to help the troubled star regain her former glory. He now says that if she will put herself into his hands he will save her career.
"Gimme More" Britney, hit the gym, hit the dance studio, and give Mr. Cowell a call.
